Meet Our Staff...

Bro. Matthew & Ms. Lee Ann Honeycutt

Our pastor is Matthew Honeycutt. He is a father of three: Aaron, Sarah, and Ryan, and is blessed with a wonderful wife, Lee Ann. He is originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee and spent the first 19 years of his life there. After graduating high school in 1998, Matt enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served 8 years including a tour in the Middle East during Operation Enduring Freedom, post 9/11. After his enlistment was fulfilled, he was honorably discharged, and upon returning home enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). After 4 years of study, Matt graduated in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business with a concentration in concrete industry management.

About his call to ministry and pastoring, Bro. Matt states: "After college, I began working for Vulcan Materials Company in Knoxville, Tennessee when I began to feel the Lord calling me to the ministry. Not long after, my family and I were transferred back to the Middle Tennessee area where we attended New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. In January 2012, I finally answered the call to the ministry. Over a year later, I was licensed (April 2013) while serving at my first church, and then in April 2014 I was ordained a Free Will Baptist minister.

After a few years of pastoral ministry I felt the need to further my education so that I could better serve the church. That is when I enrolled in graduate studies at Welch College to pursue a Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry degree. After 3 years time I earned my Master’s and graduated in May 2019.

I have served two other Free Will Baptist churches, and am now blessed to be the new pastor of Harper Road Free Will Baptist. My family and I are super excited about what the Lord has in store for us here at Harper Road FWBC!"

We are excited to have the Honeycutt family as part of our church family at Harper Road, and are looking forward to working with him for many years to come.
